The new facility is a high-efficiency fully energy-integrated wellness centre housing an Olympic-sized ice surface (200’ x 100’), fitness centre, walking track, campus space for a private sports academy and hospitality room with a dedicated kitchen. The facility includes features such as frictionless compressor technology, full energy recovery and reuse for heating/cooling/dehumidification as well as process diagnostics monitoring for ice-making and energy recycling operations. The facility will be equipped with infrastructure to allow for future district heating to adjacent buildings. The facility will be approximately a 275’ x 164’ or 45,000 sq. ft. steel superstructure with steel cladding. The building will include 10 dressing rooms, fully accessible washrooms with low consumption fixtures, a concession area, a fitness centre, a 180-metre walking track, a community hospitality room with ice viewing and a dedicated kitchen. The facility will also include meeting and classroom space.
